Well….only a few more days to go – 9 in fact – before we jet off to China to complete our challenge! Our last event - the Charity Dog Race Night #2 on 23rd September – raised £180.00 towards our target, and we have now more or less completed all of the training we can considering [...] Following the success of our charity night at Swindon Dog Track in September 2010, we are pleased to announce that we will be running a second event on the evening of Friday 23rd September 2011. This will again take place at Swindon dog track, and the ticket price will include entry and a race card for [...] Well, its getting close! So far, we have raised over £4,300 for the Institute of Cancer Research UK – please help us in hitting our target by using the Just Giving link on the left to make a donation online. We are now only approx. 6 weeks away from jetting off to China for our trek! The [...] On Sunday 29th May 2011, we hosted our Charity golf day at Caversham Heath Golf club on the outskirts of Reading, Berkshire. 44 Players were in attendance supporting the event, consisting of 33 club members and 11 guests. Thanks to the support of all who attended, we were able to raise £355.00 for the Institute of [...] We are now pleased to confirm all the details for our Charity Golf day on Sunday 29th May 2010. The event will be held at Caversham Heath Golf Club on the outskirts of Reading, a 7,000 + yard championship length course! The format will be teams of 4 playing in a Texas Scramble style team event. Men [...] Well, our hike is now only 7 months away! Now (hopefully) the Winter deluge is behind us, we are starting to concentrate our efforts again, specifically around our ongoing training. Nathan and myself are getting together at the end of February for our first training session of 2011. In other news, our charity golf day has been [...] We attended the Swindon Dog track on Friday 24th September 2010 for a charity night, to support our cause for the Institute of Cancer Research UK. A fun night was had by all, & we hope there were some big winners? Unfortunatly I was not one of them! Thanks to all who attended the night, helping us raise over [...] On Sunday August 29th 2010, we had our fundraising day at Fairford Cricket Club in Gloucestershire. The day was a great success, helping us raise just under £500.00 for the Institute of Cancer Research UK. Our main prize draw, which we have been selling tickets for over the course of the last few months, was completed, along with a Tombola, [...] Our Summer Raffle fundraising draw takes place this coming Sunday 29th August 2010 at Fairford Cricket Club. We have so far raised over £500.00 from ticket sales for the draw. Thank you to everyone for your support to date. A limited amount of tickets are still available, and will also be on sale on the day. In [...] July has been a busy month, both in terms of our ongoing training and fundraising. We have recently completed our second hiking weekend, this time covering well over 10 miles in approx 6 hours. Our next planned training event is in Snowdon during September so we are really now starting to ramp up our training. In addition, [...] |
