We are pleased to announce that we have successfully completed our Great Wall of China Trek, and returned to the UK on Sunday 16th October 2011.
The challenge was gruelling at times, and the scenery breathtaking. However, all of the training we had done clearly paid off as both of us managed the challenge with out too many issues, and this made for an extremely enjoyable, fulfulling and unforgettable experience.
Full details on our adventure in China is available here.
In the meantime, thank you to everyone for all of the support and kind donations to date.

Well….only a few more days to go – 9 in fact – before we jet off to China to complete our challenge!
Our last event - the Charity Dog Race Night #2 on 23rd September – raised £180.00 towards our target, and we have now more or less completed all of the training we can considering we are now so close to the departure date!
The company which we arranged our challenge with has published a FaceBook page where people who are in the same challenge group as us are sharing their thoughts, experiences and nerves leading up to the event. You can see this page at http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=789428572#!/event.php?eid=118991201483730
We are planning on using our Twitter and FaceBook feeds to the right of the page to keep everyone updated on our challenge as we go – so be sure to keep an eye on the blog for updates on our progress.
In the meantime, please help us with one final push to hit our £6k fundraising target by spreading the word to all of your family, friends and work colleagues. We are currently at just over £4,700 – and the link to our Just Giving site is on the left.
Finally, we would like to thank everyone for all of the fantastic support we have received to date, and we look forward to keeping you updated on our progress whilst in China!

Our training and preperation continued for our Great Wall Hike, with a recent trip to Snowdon in North Wales.
This was an excellent opportunity for us to not only expose ourselves to some relatively similar terrain, but also to gauge of overall fitness levels as well as making sure our kit was up to the job. We had planned to climb the mountain twice during the weekend, however due to a combination of blisters and a strained ankle we were not able to carry out the second climb.
None the less, it was an extremely worth while weekend, and another is scheduled for mid September where we fully intend on climbing Snowdon twice.
A few more pictures from the weekend is available here.

We have been busy in the past few weeks making some changes to our website, and you will now see on the right hand side a new style Facebook application which we hope will deliver more useful information, and enable our supporters to interact with us more freely.
In addition, you will also see a new Twitter feed. This is currently being tested with a live account with a view to being used whilst we are in China, to keep our supporters up to speed with our trek. The plan is for us to post updates via Twitter during our challenge, which will then also populate this website and our Facebook page. In the meantime, feel free to follow us on Twitter @scchambers or @nathancourt7
Finally, we are almost there with regards to our Charity Golf day in May. The finer details are being finalised with a view to an official announcement very soon.
In the meantime, our training is going well and we have now confirmed weekend dates all the way up to our challenge in October. There will also be a planned training weekend in Snowdon later in the year, and we will keep everyone posted on our progression.

In other news, our charity golf day has been arranged for Sunday May 29th 2011 at Caversham Heath Golf club in Reading, Berkshire. More information on this – including any available places – will be published in due course.
Finally, we are over the £3k mark in our fund raising efforts so still plenty of work to do! Please let all of your friends and family know of our challenge – your support is much appreciated. More to follow soon.

Well, we are almost at the end of 2010, and it has been a busy year for us and our plans to hike the Great Wall of China in 2011.
We have hosted 2 main fund-raising events this year, are now over half way to our target of £6,000, and have had to change the date of our trek to October 2011 to make way for a new arrival in April 2011! A busy 12 months!
In January 2011, we will not only be re-starting our training regime to help us prepare for the event, but will also be announcing our fund-raising plans and events for 2011.
In the meantime, thank you to everyone for all of your support during 2010, and be sure to keep up to date with our plans for 2011.
Happy New Year!
