The training continues...

Our training and preperation continued for our Great Wall Hike, with a recent trip to Snowdon in North Wales.

This was an excellent opportunity for us to not only expose ourselves to some relatively similar terrain, but also to gauge of overall fitness levels as well as making sure our kit was up to the job. [...]

I am delighted to announce that my wife Nicola is pregnant, with a due date of April 15th 2011. A picture of the 14 week scan is here on the right, and mother and baby are doing well.  However, this does have a negative impact on our plans!

July has been a busy month, both in terms of our ongoing training and fundraising.

We have recently completed our second hiking weekend, this time covering well over 10 miles in approx 6 hours. Our next planned training event is in Snowdon during September so we are really now starting to ramp up our training.

Well I have got my walking boots, and it’s been fun breaking them in! You should see the state of my feet!! At least I have a year to get used to the pain!  Steve already has his boots from his “3 Peaks Challenge” last year (and is still getting over the blisters!), so we are good to go [...]
